IPL 2018, Qualifier 1, CSK v SRH: Fantasy tips

When: Qualifier 1 – May 22nd, 7 PM IST
Where: Wankhede, Mumbai
Conditions: Weather is clear, a High scoring game is on the cards.

TEAM NEWS:
Chennai Super Kings will try to stick to the same team that played most of the games. Dhoni doesn’t love to change too many things to the side, so expect the same XI that won most of the matches.

From the last match, Shane Watson might come in for Faf du Plessis, other than that there might not be more changes to the team.

For Hyderabad, Yusuf Pathan will come back to the team and Williamson might not bring Hales in, but stick with Carlos Brathwaite to add an option for bowling.

PROBABLE XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Shreevats Goswami (wk), Kane Williamson (c), Manish Pandey, Carlos Brathwaite, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma

PROBABLE XI: Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Sam Billings/Faf du Plessis, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi, Shardul Thakur

Crickingduels fantasy cricket XI:

IPL 2018, DD v MI: Fantasy Analysis

1.Rishabh Pant (Delhi Daredevils)
Pant top-scored with 64 off 44 including four boundaries and four maximums in Sunday’s IPL victory over the Mumbai Indians.

Fantasy Analysis

While this wasn’t the best tournament for the Daredevils, Pant established himself as one of the most fear-inspiring batsmen of the tournament. His half-century on Sunday was his fifth of the tournament to go with his unbeaten 128 against Sunrisers at Delhi with three of his half-centuries and his century all coming at home. He finished the tournament atop the run-scoring board with 684 at a strike rate of 173.60 and averaged 52.61 and the 20-year-old should see plenty of international opportunities avail themselves from this summer’s display.

2.Evin Lewis (Mumbai Indians)
Lewis opened with 48 off 31 including three boundaries and four maximums in Sunday’s IPL defeat to the Delhi Daredevils.

Fantasy Analysis

The powerful opener had a very up-and-down tournament, finishing with two half-centuries and six of his 13 innings went for scores of 40-plus. However, he also had five innings where he scored 10 or fewer runs including a pair of ducks. That kind of boom-or-bust approach as an opener helps set the tone for the side, but Lewis, when he gets his eye in, showed he can still be one of the most dangerous opening batsmen, as his two T20I centuries in 14 innings shows.

3.Amit Mishra (Delhi Daredevils)
Mishra toppled three for 19 off four overs in Sunday’s IPL victory over the Mumbai Indians.

Fantasy Analysis

After his best spell of the tournament on Friday, Mishra carried his excellent form into Sunday’s season finale. He bowled 13 of his 24 balls for dots, conceded a single boundary and took his first three-for of the tournament. After taking just seven wickets in his first eight innings, he took five across his last two. While Delhi finished at the bottom of the table, they were only two points back of Mumbai and RCB.

4.Sandeep Lamichhane (Delhi Daredevils)
Lamichhane snapped up three for 36 off four overs in Sunday’s IPL victory over the Mumbai Indians.

Fantasy Analysis

The Nepalese bowler, bowling in just his third official T20 match, was expensive at the start but made up for it with a knack for taking wickets. He conceded a boundary and a maximum in his first three balls, but then got the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav in the first over, setting the tone for the rest of the innings. In the 10th over, he toppled the wickets of Kieron Pollard (thanks to some outstanding fielding work from Glenn Maxwell) and then Krunal Pandya three balls later. An excellent List A bowler, the 17-year-old has an incredibly bright future ahead.

5.Ben Cutting (Mumbai Indians)
Cutting raced to 37 off 20 including two boundaries and three maximums in Sunday’s IPL defeat to the Delhi Daredevils.

Fantasy Analysis

While they faced a reasonable chase of 175, Mumbai’s batsmen just couldn’t settle into the crease, falling to five for 78 midway through the 10th over, leaving tons of runs for the Indians’ tail as a win would’ve earned them a place in the playoff. Needing nothing short of a herculean effort without any set batsmen, Cutting, a bowling allrounder, showed he can score runs in bunches, finding the rope every fourth ball and broke 30 runs in a T20 for just the 12th time in 72 matches.

IPL 2018, CSK v KXIP: Fantasy analysis

1. Suresh Raina (Chennai Super Kings)
Raina top-scored with 61 off 48 not out including four boundaries and two maximums in Sunday’s IPL victory over Kings XI Punjab.

Fantasy Analysis

Struggling for consistency of late-totaling just 17 runs off his last two innings-Raina stayed calm as wickets fell on every side of him to record his fourth half-century of the tournament, with Sunday’s coming off 45 balls, before kicking things into another gear to close out the chase with MS Dhoni by his side, combining for 45 runs on the sixth wicket in just 18 balls.

2.Deepak Chahar (Chennai Super Kings)
Chahar raced to 39 off 20 including one boundary and three maximums with the bat and took one for 30 off four overs with the ball in Sunday’s IPL victory over Kings XI Punjab.

Fantasy Analysis

After a more than two-week absence, Chahar turned in another solid spell with the ball, taking a wicket for the third-straight match, but did his real damage with the bat. While he was a bit wild and the beneficiary of some good fortune, he showed good attacking intent to post his highest batting score by nearly double, having scored 20 not out earlier this year in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Chahar’s ability to chip in with both bat and ball will be key for the Super Kings’ success in the playoff.

3.Ankit Rajpoot (Kings XI Punjab)
Rajpoot toppled two for 19 off four overs including one maiden in Sunday’s IPL defeat to the Chennai Super Kings.

Fantasy Analysis

Defending just 154, Rajpoot turned in an excellent spell with the ball, bowling 18 of his 24 balls for dots; however, he did concede a pair of boundaries and a maximum. He was at his most impressive when he knocked out Faf du Plessis and then Sam Billings on the next ball. A fifer by Rajpoot in Hyderabad against Sunrisers was surely the high point on a disappointing season for KXIP, but finished the tournament with 11 wickets in eight matches and looks poised for a bright future.

4.Karun Nair (Kings XI Punjab)
Nair top-scored for his side with 54 off 26 including three boundaries and five maximums in Sunday’s IPL defeat to the Chennai Super Kings.

Fantasy Analysis

With wickets falling every side of him, Nair turned on the jets and put KXIP in a position to try to defend their total. He needed just 25 balls to reach his fifty. The half-century was his second of the tournament and in his 12 innings, he often lacked fluency, scoring a total of seven runs across his previous three innings. Nair will captain India A’s four-day squad for their tour of England and will push for a place in the Test squad.

5.Lungi Ngidi (Chennai Super Kings)
Ngidi was named Man of the Match after taking four for 10 off four overs including one maiden in Sunday’s IPL victory over Kings XI Punjab.

Fantasy Analysis

A powerplay Ngidi won’t soon forget as his first over, he took the wicket of Chris Gayle on the second ball and saw just a single bye conceded, good for his first-career IPL maiden and his fifth T20 maiden in 43 innings. By the end of the powerplay, Ngidi conceded just seven runs off his three overs and took the scalps of Gayle and Lokesh Rahul in the process. After KXIP scored 18 runs in the 17th over, Ngidi stepped back into the attack and conceded just three runs while taking the wickets of R Ashwin and Andrew Tye, both for a duck, to secure his third-career T20 four-for and his best-bowled innings. He’s now taken six wickets over his last seven overs while conceding at just 3.43 an over and will be a big part of the attack during the playoffs.

IPL 2018, KKR v SRH: Fantasy analysis

An important match for KKR and other teams as if KKR win today, they will qualify and if CSK loses by a huge margin on Sunday, they do have a chance of making it top two.
For SRH, Things haven’t gone their way since their last home game. Their bowlers, the major weapon of Hyderabad hasn’t played well. In a way, this match is important for SRH to get back to the winning ways.

Safe pick:
Kane Williamson
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 179

No matter where he plays, no matter against whom he plays, the Kiwi Captain consistently picks up the important runs for the team.

HOT PICK
Sunil Narine
Last match crickingduels fantasy points 81

He powered KKR to a thumping win against Punjab the other night. KKR will need similar knocks from the Windies all-rounder to keep them in the hunt.

Tricky Pick
Chris Lynn
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 72

The Australian is having an inconsistent season where he struggled in most of the matches.

The Dark Horse
Rashid Khan
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 113

The Afghani bowler plays a key role in the bowling line-up of SRH. He is always ready to bowl and pick wickets for the team. No one including world’s best batsmen has failed to pick his deliveries.

IPL 2018, RR v RCB: Fantasy picks

This probably is one of the important matches of the tournament as the outcome will affect the points table. With no Buttler and Stokes, Royals is not the same team whereas, the inclusion of Moeen Ali improved RCB’s strength both with the bat and ball. This probably one of the moves Kohli should have done earlier. With bright chance to get into the playoffs, Kohli will be looking to win this match at a good run-rate so that they can get through easily and for Royals, they will be looking out for the same.

Safe Pick:

Y Chahal
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 46

The batsmen are yet to read his variations, and that is his plus point. He grabs important scalps and cuts the run flow as well.

Hot Pick:

Moeen Ali
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 166

The England All-rounder has provided the much-needed balance for the Bangalore side. Ali will be one of the most important players for the team as the tournament progress.

Tricky Pick:

Ajinkya Rahane
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 13

The Royals needs their best man to perform, but just like Rohit Sharma, Rahane couldn’t find the sweet spot yet. Can he find his form at the right time for Royals?

The Darkhorse

Ish Sodhi
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 51

The Kiwi spinner will play the key role in today’s match as AB de Villiers struggles against Sodhi.

While bowling first in perfect batting conditions, Khan had an outstanding day for the visitors. Williamson had a great day for the visitors during a mammoth chase. In a must-win game, De Grandhomme played a great cameo for his team, as it was actually his knock which made sure Bangalore finished with the score of 218. During his short stay on the crease, De Grandhomme scored runs at a strike-rate of 235.29, which was much better than his career strike-rate of 166.52. Expect more fireworks from him in Bangalore’s next match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.

While batting first in a do-or-die encounter, Ali played a great hand for his team. The England all-rounder scored his first half-century in this year’s IPL and 11th in a T20 career. The most impressive aspect of Ali’s knock was his strike-rate 191.17, which was considerably better than his career strike-rate of 128.74. That was not it as he also hit the most number of sixes (6) in the match. He will be next in action against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.

IPL 2018, CSK v DD: Fantasy tips

When: May 18, 2018; 8 PM IST
Where: Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi
Conditions: Rain is on the cards

Team News:
Chennai Super Kings faced woes in the bowling, and with their main strike bowler Chahar, who came back from the injury has improved the bowling attack for the team. CSK will have a tough time controlling the Delhi batsmen. Whereas, Delhi has produced young energy more than anyone else in this IPL. The other night, we had 17 years old Abhishek Sharma smashing everyone fearlessly. So, there might not be many changes for both the teams.

PROBABLE XI:

Delhi Daredevils:
Prithvi Shaw, Jason Roy/Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer (capt), Rishabh Pant (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Vijay Shankar, Liam Plunkett/ Junior Dala, Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Trent Boult, Shahbaz Nadeem/ Rahul Tewatia

Chennai Super Kings:
Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (capt & wk), Sam Billings, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Karn Sharma, Deepak Chahar/ Shardul Thakur, Lungi Ngidi

CRICKINGDUELS FANTASY PLAYING XI:

IPL 2018, MI v KXIP: Fantasy picks

When the IPL started, nobody would have thought that both Mumbai and Punjab will be in this position. Mumbai’s close finishes and minute mistakes have pushed them to this place whereas Punjab has only themselves to blame for their poor show. Winning only a match in their last six shows how the things have gone in the second half of the tournament. Other than Rahul, no player stood up and contributed consistently for the team.

Here is the crickingduels fantasy pick for today:

Safe Pick

Suryakumar Yadav
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 79

He now has the most runs for an uncapped player. Yadav needs to perform well in order to keep Mumbai in the hunt.

Hot Pick:

KL Rahul
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 39

No-brainer. Probably, one of the best talents in the world cricket right now. His brilliant knocks and long innings are such a delight to watch.

Tricky Pick:

Rohit Sharma
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: -5

The Mumbai Captain visibly struggled to time the ball to perfection. This is the major concern for Mumbai team right now.

The Darkhorse

Hardik Pandya
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 99

Pandya’s contribution to the team will be crucial today. As the team is dependent on both Hardik and Krunal, they must step up to perform well.

IPL 2018,KKR v RR: Fantasy picks

This match is going to be crucial not only for KKR and RR but also for the other teams that rely on Net Run Rate and the results of the other teams. A loss here will push one of the teams backwards, and the other team will sit pretty on the table. With RCB winning by a big margin yesterday, the tournament is still wide open. Here are my picks for today.

Safe Pick

Jos Buttler
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 198

The main reason why Rajasthan is winning right now. After being promoted as the opener, the England superstar has scored five consecutive fifties.

Hot pick

Sunil Narine
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 185

He powered KKR to a thumping win against Punjab the other night. KKR will need similar knocks from the Windies all-rounder to keep them in the hunt.

Tricky Pick

D’Arcy Short
Last match crickingduels fantasy points 6

The Australian’s lacklustre form in IPL continued even in the last match. He consistently struggled against the deliveries that came back in.

The darkhorse

Ben Stokes
Last match crickingduels fantasy points 55

The England all-rounder provided a great bowling display against Mumbai Indians that brought Rajasthan back into the game.

IPL 2018, RCB v KXIP: Fantasy Picks

Royal Challengers Bangalore will still look into the needle-thin possibility to qualify for the playoffs while Punjab needs to win two out of three matches to qualify safely. If Bangalore can win today, they still hold a chance and not only that, a loss for Punjab can brighten the opportunity for Mumbai Indians.

Safe Pick:

AB de Villiers
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 174

AB de Villiers played a match-winning knock the other night, and Bangalore will be hoping that he continues to perform well.

Hot Pick:

KL Rahul
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 130

Rahul is in a sublime form in this tournament, and he is going to be crucial going forward.

Tricky Pick:

Chris Gayle
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: 33

The universal boss struggles to the delivery that is close to his body and the bowlers are using this trick to keep him down for the recent matches.

The darkhorse:

Umesh Yadav
Last match crickingduels fantasy points: -1

The seamer’s ability swing the ball both ways is powerful, and no wonder if he can keep both the openers quite at the start.
