SL v WI: Fantasy Analysis

Lahiru Kumara
Kumara toppled four for 58 off 23.3 overs including five maidens in the first innings of Sri Lanka’s third Test with the West Indies.

Fantasy Analysis

Kumara has been outstanding this calendar year, taking 17 wickets in eight innings at an average of 25.47 including three four-wicket hauls. The 21-year-old seamer has really come into his own this series and both bowled the most overs of any Sri Lankan bowler in the first innings and at the best economy of the bunch.

Shane Dowrich
Dowrich totalled 71 off 132 including nine boundaries in the first innings of the West Indies third Test with Sri Lanka.

Fantasy Analysis

The wicketkeeper has been excellent with the bat in 2018 after starting his career relatively slowly. In 33 innings coming into this year, he had one century and five half-centuries. However, in six innings this year, he has his best-career Test score (an unbeaten 125 against Sri Lanka) and two half-centuries including his first innings, a 115-run partnership with Jason Holder on the sixth wicket.

Jason Holder
Holder top-scored with 74 off 123 including 13 boundaries with the bat and toppled four for 19 off 16 overs including eight maidens with the ball in the first innings of the West Indies third Test with Sri Lanka.

Fantasy Analysis

The Windies skipper did a little bit of everything and then some. His 115-run sixth wicket partnership with Shane Dowrich salvaged the West Indies’ innings with the bat and then made sure that the Sri Lanka tail wouldn’t steal runs late, conceding at just 1.18 an over with half of his overs going for maidens. While he may neither be the best batsman in the side nor the best bowler, he’s shown an ability to turn in a captain’s knock with the bat (his seventh fifty of his 32 match career) and do more than just control the run rate with the ball (his second four-for).

IND A v WI A: Players to watch out for

Here are the players to watch out for:

Deepak Chahar: Right from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Chahar has announced himself. He had a great season with IPL champions CSK and is continuing to dominate the batsmen.

Prithvi Shaw: Except the last match, Shaw’s run in the tournament is impressive. He will be looking to bounce back today.

Jason Mohammed: The captain will be looking to lead from the front and will be keen to make a mark today.

K Paul: Paul received the ’emerging player of the year’ award from the Windies cricket board recently. He will be under the radar to perform well.

Uruguay v Russia: Fantasy tips

Head to Head
Total Matches: 8 (7 with Russia as the Soviet Union)
Uruguay: 1
Russia: 7

Form
Uruguay: W W W W W

Players to watch out for:
Diego Godin
Not only is Godin a superb defender, he also offers something in attack. Especially, for his price.

Denis Cheryshev
With three goals from two games for the hosts, Cheryshev has stepped up to the occasion.

Jose Gimenez
Gimenez scored the only goal of Uruguay’s opening match against Egypt. He helped the team register two consecutive clean sheets.

Diego Laxalt
He might be making sub appearances for his nation but it feels as though he will be limited to just that in the next game.

England v Panama: Fantasy tips

When: 24th June 2018 – 17:30 IST

Previous Match’s Playing XI

Panama

Players to watch out for:

Harry Kane: The Spurs attacker got England off to a flier with a 2-goal haul against Tunisia. Both the goals had an element of fortune to them but Kane was at the right place at the right time to knock the ball home.

John Stones: The Manchester City defender was solid at the back against Tunisia, He is expected to be his usual miserly self against Panama too.

Gabriel Gomez: The midfielder was critical to Panama restricting Belgium from scoring in the first half.

Jaime Penedo: The goalkeeper couldn’t stop the flood of goals in the second half, but for 47 minutes of the match he was rock solid. Panama would want him to replicate that early match form against England.

Costa Rica were beaten 1-0 by Serbia, courtesy Serbia captain Aleksandar Kolarov’s stunning free-kick. Brazil, on the other hand, were held 1-1 by Switzerland. Both the teams need a big win here and this is going to be nothing short of a thriller with Brazil having the upper hand.

Playing XI Probable:
Brazil: Alisson (GK), Danilo, Thiago Silva, Miranda, Marcelo (C), Casemiro, Paulinho, Willian, Philippe Coutinho, Neymar Jr., Roberto Firmino

Costa Rica: Keylor Navas (GK), Johnny Acosta, Giancarlo Gonzalez, Oscar Duarte, Cristian Gamboa, Celso Borges, Daniel Colindres, Francisco Calvo, Bryan Ruiz (c), Johan Venegas, Marco Urena

Players to watch out for:
Danilo: He was the best player in the first match for Brazil where they drew against Switzerland. He will look to continue to attack the defenders to score.

Miranda: The Brazilian centre-back was involved in both boxes and even had a penalty appeal against him waved away. The tall Inter Milan defender will be eager to make his mark in this game and help his team keep a clean sheet.

Guzman: In the last game, Croatia did not have a shot on target till their 91st minute. So, it is unlikely that Guzman feature today.

Keylor Navas: After a 1-1 draw against Switzerland, Brazil needs a win desperately and their strikers will be hungry. Navas will be the crucial player for the team.
